2015 Favia CERRO SUR Red Wine Napa Valley  (AG 94 | JD 95)

The fruit for Cerro Sur comes from a breathtaking mountaintop block of Cabernet Franc planted nearly 40 years ago on the famed Rancho Chimiles, high in the Vaca Mountains. Having produced this wine for more than a decade, Favia can confidently say that this is truly a wine from a very special terroir. The vines consistently produce wines of power, energy, balance and complexity. A long maceration on the skins, minimal racking, barrel aging for 22 months in French oak, and bottling without filtration or fining, help to capture the many nuances.

2015 Favia LA MAGDALENA Red Wine Napa Valley (AG 95 | JD 99)

Sourced from the coveted Summit Block at Oakville Ranch high in the eastern red hills of Oakville, this unique wine hails from one of the finest areas in the world for growing Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Favia has been making wine from these vines for a decade, and the results are always spectacular. Co-fermented in this vintage, these two varieties show the absolute best of what Oakville has to offer. After 22 months in barrel and one year in bottle, this blend is tightly knit together, but with a softness and polish that makes it immediately accessible.

2015 Favia COOMBSVILLE Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (AG 94 | JD 98+)

This is the third vintage Favia made as a stand-alone bottling of a Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville, the historic, however newly ascendant, appellation in the southeast corner of the Napa Valley. Favia has been working with vineyards in this area for more than a decade and is now home to their winery. Its gravelly soils and proximity to San Pablo Bay combine to lend the wines an old-world, savory quality, delivered at an impressive level of concentration and depth. The long, careful maceration on the skins adds to the roundness of the tannins, even given their girth and structure.

2015 Favia OAKVILLE Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley (AG 96 | JD 97)

Like its sister wine, La Magdalena, our Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from select blocks at Oakville Ranch, high above the valley floor in the eastern hills of Oakville. These red, iron rich soils produce wines of great stature and profound complexity, wines that have a signature and personality all their own. It is always a deep, structured, and complex wine – regal and statuesque. The 2015 is no exception, and at present the wine is powerful but precise, with textbook aromas and flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon from this heralded site.

2016 Favia CARBONE Red Wine Napa Valley

With a nod to the past, and with an eye toward continuing our story “Carbone” celebrates the history and promise of the property Favia has meticulously restored. The moniker comes from its first homesteading family – brothers, Antonio, Lorenzo, and Nicola Carbone, who first broke ground in what is now known as Coombsville in 1872; nearly 150 years later, Favia now proudly calls it home. The 2016 vintage is multi-dimensional, immediately accessible, but also has the structure and depth to improve over many years.
