Domaine Leroy
Mme. Leroy’s practice of biodynamic viticulture is among the most intuitive on the planet; it is also the most original and demanding. As a result her yields are tiny and her costs are enormous, and so follows the pricing. Widely considered Burgundy’s best wines, the 2013s are proof that at 80 years old Lalou can still climb higher! Each glass of these 2013s, and 2011s for the two whites, is a revelation, lifting to a degree of perfection the textures and savors of each of her “climats.”
Estate vineyards: 21.98h – 18.13h of red: gamay 2%, pinot noir 81% and 3.85h of white: aligote 11%, chardonnay 6%. Total annual production: 40,000 bottles.The vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic principles and produce tiny quantities of grapes but of a quality without known equivalent on the planet for pinot noir.

The beauty of their bouquet has no equal save the supreme elegance of their own texture and the precision and definition of their own terroir. A full-throttle, classic vintage for Leroy, despite the difficulties elsewhere; these 2013s have rich, full-bodied flavors and make for an emotional experience – from the first to the last drop, all here is beyond compare.
